Diaphragmatic hernia with the fetal stomach seen in the chest just adjacent to the fetal heart which also show classic golf ball cardiac echogenic focus thickening of one of the tendonous cords This echogenic spot usually appears in the left ventricle of the heart, but in some cases it is present in both ventricles. Although the focus itself has no significance, some studies have reported a two to four fold increase in the risk Down syndrome and other chromosomal. Thus it is included as a soft tissue marker of chromosomal problems in general, not only for Down syndrome.
